Why I wrote this book

The idea went PLOMP! It plomped into my head,
fully formed, fully finished, right there in the bed,
in the midst of an Oh! (a big one at that!),
right then I knew: there was no going back.

I was floating to nowhere, that blissful-ish place
where your thoughts drift away and you misplace your face.
Full-body bamboozled, all wobbly and free,
as I came with him, too, the book came to me!

So I reached for my phone (respectfully, yes)
with a giggly delight I will gladly confess,
and I typed a reminder, quick-quick, with my thumb,
before he pulled me back in and said: “Oh! we’re not done.”

A phone note dated October 6, 2017, 5:56 PM that reads: Dr Seuss orgasm book, a book that values genuine female sexual pleasure.

It’s a tale of my very own sexual bloom,
from the numb-stricken wasteland of desire-less gloom.
From nothing-at-all to whole body humming,
it’s a sing-song-y story of simply be-coming,
with hookups, and make-ups, and calls that are wakeups,
plenty of pleasure and a couple of shake-ups.

So remember this:

When The Shaming Place shames you (and oh, how it shames!)
with its finger-wag-waggers and name-calling names,
you’ve got the key! Hop a snake! Take a ride!
Through the portal you’ll pop to the bright other side!

What will YOU find?

The Pussy Portal from the book: a giant pink vulva glowing under a sunburst, with the girl climbing a staircase toward it

PS: We weren’t together long, the man whose magical rocket shot me into space. But Oh! was it ever special. He was the first person I sent the book to, with a dedication that appears in no other copy. That’s just between us.

Backstory

The evolving cover

It started with an “ejackalope” as the main character. I thought I was so clever, but really, I was hiding. At first, I didn’t want to admit that this was my story.

  1. Early cover with a jackalope sitting on top and the title in black

    An ejackalope

Why follow a rabbit down a hole when you can follow an ejackalope through a portal?

  2. Black and white line drawing of the cover with the girl on top

    Then she arrived

The ejackalope hopped off and the rightful storyteller took the summit. That little character you see, me, was ready to own her story.

  3. Nicolle holding a first edition hardcover with black lettering over its shipping box

    The first edition

Holding the book in my hands for the first time! Only 300 copies were printed this way, a special edition for Kickstarter supporters. If you have one: Thank you!

  4. The final hardcover with pink lettering, held up in one hand

    Its final form

Then the letters went pink. This is the edition everyone can get now.
